To add cheeks
Instead of using brads or crochet or felt, this time, I decided to use makeup. This technique is a very fast and easy way to add blushies on any amigurumi.

P22P14

Use a clean Q-tip or eyeshadow brush and blush or pink eyeshadow (I used an old makeup set)

P22P15

Carefully dab the makeup into desired place.

TIP: Use the most of the powder for the centre of the cheek. When the main colour has finished use the remaining colour to spread and blend the makeup on the doll.

P22P16

Finished one cheek. Now do the same on the other side.

P22P17

Finished Harumi.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

This is an original Sunshine Amigurumi pattern so please do not claim it as your own
You may share the pattern by linking it to your site. But please do not repost it!
Also, please use this pattern for personal use only. Thank you!

I want to thank everyone for following and bearing with me all this time. 2016 was a slow year where I only had 2 blog posts. Unfortunately, I was quite busy last year and hope that I can make it up to you guys this year by posting more often! I also included 2 patterns in this post to make up for the lack of posts last year but I’m afraid I need to work harder than that right?

Anyway, I hope that I can post more this year, so make sure you look forward to another year of Sunshine Amigurumi!

Thank you everyone, so so much~

P.S. If you stick around for Chinese New Year Eve (27 January), there will be a Stop Motion Animation about these two. Otanoshimini! (Please look forward to it!)

Hello everyone, today is our 2nd year anniversary at Sunshine Amigurumi

p21p4

Yes, and we’re worried because our creator hasn’t posted anything on the site for a while…

p21p5

Not a word since January!

p21p3

And I don’t know about you, but it’s been too quiet for way too long!

p21p6

Sunni-chan: Hey, don’t be too hard on her, she’s probably really busy….

p21p3

Well anyway, we want to wish ourselves a happy 2nd year anniversary. So…

p21p7

Happy 2nd Year Anniversary

1 Year Blog Anniversary

P17P1

HOORAY! Sunshine Amigurumi is turning one!

It has been a whole year since Sunshine Amigurumi made its appearance on the blogosphere. Wow, the time really flies, doesn’t it?

I want to thank you for being patient with me and hanging through all this time. I know that I’m a little slow at updating posts but I am trying my best. Also, thank you for bearing with me through social media. Sometimes I forget about it and remember a day late…sorry. (Luckily, WordPress handles a lot of that for me. Heh heh…)

At the moment I have eighteen individual characters and two free patterns. Hopefully, I can bring you more cute and quirky characters and stories in the near future. There is an abundance of characters who can’t wait to tell their story to you, and an abundance of character still wanting to be made.

Sunshine Amigurumi has also changed a lot in the past year, we even had a domain change! So I just want to thank everyone for following the Sunshine Forest around the web to continue the story of Kinoko-chan, Sunni-chan and the rest of the Sunshine Forest.

Thank you so much.

FREE PATTERN: COOKIE AND CREAM

P10P13

Hey Cookie! Want to go on an adventure?

P10P15

Why?

These two adorable little bears are as opposite as they come. Cookie is a sleepy bear, always ready for a nap. But Cream? He is always ready for adventure. With a spring in his step he often convinces Cookie to come along with him. But of course, he sleeps most of the journey!

P10P17

Well? Where do you want to go? Here? Or how about here?

P10P18

The bus is taking ages. I’ll…just take…a little…nap…

P10P19

Oh no! Cookie wake up! The bus is here!

P10P21

Cookie…we missed the bus

P10P1

Body parts before sewn

Cookie’s blanket
With Blue wool roving:
Step 1: Needle felt a rectangular piece measuring about 4.5cm x 3.5cm
With White wool roving:
Step 2: Add polka dots and a line of white on the bottom of the blanket.
With White thread:
Step 3: Blanket stitch all the way around the blanket. (You can also sew it on using this thread)
Alternatively, you could simply use a fabric of your choice to make his blanket, however, I believe the needle felting technique makes it look more like a fleece blanket (and it’s so rewarding to make something yourself!)

P10P6

Close up of Cookie’s blanket

Assembly (General)

  • Sew on the body to the head and other limbs
  • Cut out a muzzle and the insides of the ears out of the felt specified
  • Cut out cheeks from pink felt
P10P4

Felt compared with a ruler

  • Sew a nose and mouth onto the muzzle using black thread
P10P11

Steps to make the muzzle

  • Glue on the felt in the appropriate places
P10P7

I used Daiso Handicraft Cloth Adhesive Glue. (手芸用布接着剤) Some of the glue spread over the edge but it’s okay, it dries clear.

P10P8

Sew it together. It is much easier to sew it and then glue. I did it the wrong way round. Oops…

Assembly (Cookie)

  • Sew on diagonally slanted eyes using the black thread. (You may need to go over the eyes a few times so it is thick enough to be seen)
  • Sew on Cookie’s left arm so that it points to the right – this is so he is able to hold his blankie
  • Using the needle-felting needle, (or by sewing) attach the blanket to the body and hand to make it look as if he is holding a blankie
P10P5

Close up of Cookie’s face

Assembly (Cream)

  • Assemble the Daiso フェイクレザーキット:トランク (Artificial leather craft kit: Trunk). (There are instructions in both English and Japanese inside)

P10P10

I really enjoyed making Cookie and Cream and I hope you do too! Please show me photos of your bears in the comments below! Have fun!
